Penelope Callan
Practice Nurse
Penelope graduated from the University of Hull School of Nursing in the UK and she first gained experience in Paediatric and Neo-natal care. She also worked the A&E and medicine of the elderly in Naas General Hospital. Nurse Callan was an experienced triage nurse with the K-Doc, Doctors on Call Service before joining the Barrowview Medical Practice in 2008.
Penelope has extensive experience in all aspects of nursing care. She continued her professional development in wound management, phlebotomy, immunisation, anaphylaxis, ECGs, Diabetic management, anticoagulant management, family planning, cervical smear taking, ear care, audiometry and 24 hr blood pressure monitoring.
Her areas of special interest include Health Promotion, Occupational Health and Chronic Disease Management.
